I started Envision Counseling in 2009, at Broad Ripple Therapy Associates. I am a seasoned therapist with more than 30 years of professional experience providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families.
I work with a variety of professionals including lawyers, therapists, small business owners, and medical professionals. I work with women transitioning between work and parenting.
I enjoy working with clients who are interested in personal and interpersonal growth work and those who are in recovery from an addiction and want to take their recovery to the next level.
I love my work and am so thankful I have a profession I am passionate about. It's an honor for me to support others through difficult times.
I am always learning and growing, as a therapist and a human being. I am always reading, listening to podcasts, or taking continuing education courses to cultivate a deeper understanding.
I believe strongly in doing my own growth work. This allows me to be a better therapist, parent, spouse, and human being. I have been practicing mindfulness and meditation for three decades and it has been life changing.
I love enjoying time with my husband, son and our dogs. We love to travel, camping and hiking. Time in nature are our best days.
I believe in relationships and their power to help us heal.
I have more than 30 years of practice and specialized training in working with individuals, couples and families. Some highlights of my training include:
Education
Bachelor in Social Work, Ball State University, 1992
Master of Social Work, Indiana University, 1996
My life's purpose is to help others embrace This One Precious Beautiful Life with all its ups and downs.
I chose the name Envision Counseling after years of practicing as a therapist and walking my own recovery journey. I believe in Envisioning the life we want while simultaneously accepting circumstances that are often beyond our control. This sounds simple, but is deep and complex work.
My holistic, compassionate and strengths-based style includes a variety of treatment approaches tailored to your individual needs.
I encourage my clients to consider the mind-body connection. This includes lifestyle practices and behaviors that impact mental health.
I provide support and guidance as you work through life's challenges. While I value deep listening, I also provide direction and guidance as needed.
I rarely assign homework, but I will offer suggestions if you are interested in continuing to learn and grow outside of sessions. I encourage curiosity and the use of intentional experiments as a way to learn and grow.
