EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the client to focus  briefly on the disturbing memory while simultaneously experiencing  bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements). This process is  associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotions associated  with the traumatic memories.

EMDR is used to overcome traumatic  experiences and limiting beliefs that continue to create turmoil in our  lives—these may stem from childhood events or may include recent life  events.

To learn more about EMDR go to visit this website.

Overcome a variety struggles including:

  • Disturbing memories/events: sexual assault, traumatic losses
  • Embedded beliefs and chronic shame developed in childhood
  • Fears/phobias

I  will help you decide if EMDR is an effective treatment approach for  you. EMDR is not for everyone, but many people find it remarkably  effective.

Here are some questions to determine if EMDR may be an option for you:

  • Have you experienced past events that continue to cause current distress?
  • Did you grow up in a chaotic, abusive, or alcoholic family and feel this continues to impact you?
  • Did you lose someone and can't seem to shake certain memories?
  • Do you have a parent with mental health issues and have a sense it impacts how you feel about yourself and relationships?
  • Do you have reactions to life events that feel more intense than you would expect, given the situation?

Rest assured, we will start with a thorough assessment and develop a trauma treatment plan that is designed for you.
