Couples Therapy
I have trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Imago Therapy. While these are two distinct models of marriage/couples counseling, I draw from both in my work. I rely heavily on Imago Dialogue as a process that supports couples in learning how to communicate their deepest concerns and desires. Through this process couples learn to be fully present in their loved one’s experience and cultivate a deeper awareness of their own emotional experience. This requires safety and vulnerability—these are often new skills that take varying amounts of time to establish.
It takes courage to do the growth work that all relationships require. Therapy provides a safe place to do this work. You will uncover new ways of being with your partner if you bring a willingness to grow and learn to each session, with an understanding that two people contribute to the state of the marriage. We continuously work on cultivating curiosity and what underlying dynamics may be influencing the relationship.

Family Therapy
I work with families and parents who are struggling with a variety of life stages and issues. I can assist you with navigating through a difficult time in life, learning new communication skills, or providing a safe space to discuss life’s most challenging topics.
I have a background in working with families who have experienced addictions, high conflict, and difficulties communicating and connecting. I believe all behavior has a purpose and it is the work of therapy to create understanding and alternatives.
I have experience in families with children with sexual behavior problems. If you are concerned about your child’s behavior or wondering where to start the conversation on human sexuality, a few topic-specific sessions may help you get started.
I do not currently see children for individual therapy in private practice, but do work with parents on how to navigate parenting difficulties, and with parents and children together.
